Opening Hours
We are open 8 am and 6 pm, Monday – Friday. Unfortunately we are closed on Bank Holidays.
Sundays and Bank Holidays are covered by NHS 111 service where patients will be directed to a local hub.

Out of hours
When the surgery is closed, call NHS 111 for free where the right healthcare professional will see you, as close to your home as possible. You may also use NHS Online at https://111.nhs.uk
In a genuine emergency you should call 999.
Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

For prescription requests please use the NHS App or online services, email us, register to use our telephone request service or drop your repeat slip at the practice.
Disabled Facilities
We are committed to making our surgery accessible to all patients. The practice offers full wheelchair access, disabled toilet facilities, and a hearing loop system at reception to support patients with hearing difficulties. Please speak to a member of our team if you require any assistance during your visit. All of our consultation rooms are on the ground floor. We also provide disable parking at the front of the building, for easy access.

NHS Online
NHS 111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need to treat yourself at home or go to a Primary Care Centre. If you need face to face medical attention, you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC’s)
If you have a minor injury, 24/7, 365 days a year, you can go to a Minor Injuries Unit at:
- Bishop Auckland Hospital – DL14 6AD
- Peterlee Community Hospital – SR8 5UQ or
- Shotley Bridge Hospital – DH8 0NB (8am to 11:59pm)
However, we would advise that you call NHS 111 to get an appointment thereby reducing your waiting times in the unit.
Minor injury units can treat non critical or life threatening injuries. They can treat a number of injuries including:
- Injuries to upper and lower liimbs
- Broken bones, sprains, bruises and wounds
- Bites – human, animal and insect
- Burns and scalds
- Abcesses and wound infections
- Minor head injuries
- Broken noses and nosebleeds
- Foreign bodies in the eyes and nose
