Appointments can be booked by calling the practice on 01388 811455 during working hours.

We are open 8 am and 6 pm, Monday – Friday.

Out of hours and Bank Holidays are covered by NHS 111 service online where patients will be directed to a local hub.

How to Book an Appointment

1. By Phone

Call 01388 811455
Monday to Friday: 8:30am–1:00pm and 2:00pm–6:00pm

We offer a range of routine face-to-face appointments with:

  • GPs
  • Senior Nurse Prescriber
  • Practice Nurse, Nurse Associate and health care assistants
  • Other healthcare professionals

Our reception team will do their best to offer you an appointment with your preferred clinician.

2. In Person

You can visit the surgery and speak directly with a receptionist.

Care Navigation at Your Practice
Our reception team may ask for brief information about your concerns. This helps ensure you are directed to the most appropriate healthcare professional.

You may also be signposted to other services such as:

  • Community pharmacy
  • Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS)
  • First Contact Physiotherapist
  • Mental Health Link Worker

    3. Online Bookable Appointments

    Routine appointments with nurse/health care assistant for:

    • Blood tests for chronic disease reviews
    • Immunisations
    • Cervical screening (smears)

    These can be booked via the NHS App or SystmOnline.

    Please note:

    • Online blood test appointments are for chronic disease reviews only
    • For other blood tests, please arrange a telephone consultation or submit an eConsult
    • Please provide a reason for your appointment when booking, as this helps us ensure you are booked with the correct clinician.

    Urgent Same Day Appointments

    If your condition requires same-day assessment, we will do our best to accommodate you.

    Please note this may not always be with your usual GP.
    You can request this by phone or in person.

    Call 999 or go to A&E in an emergency

    Medical emergencies can include:

    • loss of consciousness
    • an acute confused state
    • fits that are not stopping
    • chest pain
    • breathing difficulties
    • severe bleeding that cannot be stopped
    • severe allergic reactions
    • severe burns or scalds

    Telephone Appointments

    If your issue may not require a face-to-face visit, you can request a telephone consultation by calling 01388 811455.

    • Available: 8:30am–12:00pm and 2:00pm–6:00pm
    • Reception will ask a few brief questions to direct you appropriately. They will confirm the best number to reach you on.

    A clinician may arrange a face-to-face appointment if needed.

    E-Consults

    Available for:

    • Non-urgent medical advice
    • Administrative queries
    • Sick/fit notes

    Home Visits

    Home visits are available for patients who are housebound and unable to attend the surgery. The surgery has better examination and treatment facilities, and home visits do take more time for the clinician. We do request that you arrange an appointment at the surgery as much as possible.

    • Request between 8:00am and 10:00am by calling 01388 811455
    • A GP will telephone you first to assess your request

    Appointment Duration

    • Standard appointments are 10 minutes
    • For multiple or complex concerns, you may be asked to book a follow-up appointment
    • Longer appointments can be requested where appropriate

    We aim to run on time, but delays can occur if earlier patients need additional care.

    If You Are Late

    Please inform the surgery if you are running late.
    We will try to accommodate you, but you may need to rebook

    When We Are Closed

    If you need medical help outside of our normal opening hours, please contact NHS 111.

    NHS 111 is the NHS non emergency service. It’s fast, easy and free to use. When you call, you’ll speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you questions about your symptoms and direct you to the most appropriate care.

    You can also use NHS 111 online at: https://111.nhs.uk/ This is a quick and convenient digital alternative to calling. Your symptoms will be assessed and you’ll receive advice on whether you can treat yourself at home or need to attend a Primary Care Centre.

    In an emergency, always call 999. Symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath should be treated as emergencies.

    NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and calls are free from both landlines and mobile phones.

    When to Call 999

    Call 999 immediately in an emergency, such as:

    • Heart attack – sudden chest pain or discomfort
    • Stroke – sudden weakness, confusion, or difficulty speaking
    • Severe allergic reaction – difficulty breathing or swelling of face/lips/tongue
    • Choking – unable to breathe or cough
    • Severe bleeding – heavy bleeding that will not stop
