E‑Consults – An Easy Way to Get Advice from Your GP
E‑Consult is a quick and convenient way to seek medical advice online from your GP.
It only takes a few minutes to complete, and you can do it at any time from the comfort of your own home. No login is required.
You can use this for fit note or any administrative queries as well.
E‑Consult is also available through the NHS App.
After submitting your request, you may receive a text message from the practice advising you of the next steps. This could include:
- Arranging blood tests
- Booking an appointment-either face-to-face or telephone by ringing surgery
- Signposting to the most appropriate healthcare professional
We aim to respond by the end of the next working day.
Important:
If you are unwell and need an appointment, please do not use e‑consult.
You must telephone the surgery so we can ensure you receive timely care.
eConsultations are a great way to send in general queries rather than by telephone. They are all reviewed by our Care Navigators and allocated accordingly to the most appropriate clinician.
An eConsultation does not mean an automatic appointment.
If you are unwell, we strongly advise contacting the practice by telephone and not by submitting an eConsult. eConsultations are not always actioned same day.
eConsultation service should NOT be used for unwell children.
All fit notes (otherwise known as sick notes) are to be requested via eConsultation. If you are using the service to request a fit note, please ensure you select the ‘I want administrative help’ option and provide as much information as possible to ensure swift action on your request.
This service cannot be used for routine appointment requests, re-arranging appointments or cancelling appointments. Likewise, if you have been sent a message from the practice to book a routine appointment, you will need to contact the practice via the appointments line. We appreciate that phone lines can get busy, especially on a morning, but this is an inappropriate use of the service.
Please help us to help you by using services appropriately.
